I went to Knollwood Elementary School and I presented about computer science to the awesome students of Mrs. Vittorio’s 5th grade class with STEMFuture’s elementary school computer science workshop curriculum. The group was so into it; I really enjoyed presenting! At the end of the presentation, we did a Scratch activity and created our own animated birthday cards! Here at STEMFuture, we believe that it is never too early to become immersed in STEM – and these elementary school students are living exemplars of that!

“The presentation was enjoyable to the students because it combining listening to new information with using a website to apply what was being taught. The students are very engaged by anything related to technology. It was wonderful for them to learn about what drives the programs and games they use every day. It developed an interest in coding that I believe many students will continue to pursue.” – Christine Vittorio (5th grade teacher at Knollwood Elementary School)
